BOXHORN beim Designmai Youngsters in Berlin |
Vom 18. bis 21. Mai wurde die Kunstfabrik am Flutgraben zu dem Treffpunkt der jungen Designszene. In erster Linie gab es natürlich jede Menge Design in allen erdenklichen Ausführungen zu sehen und zu erleben. Ergänzend zum Motto des diesjährigen Designmai – „Designcity“ – lautete das Motto der Youngsters „Designsuburbia“.
Der Titel war nicht zufällig gewählt: die Randzonen und Hinterhöfe der Designstadt – der Underground – sind schließlich das Arbeitsfeld der Youngsters. Auf über 2500 qm Ausstellungsfläche präsentierten die DMY in diesem Jahr, was sie auf ihrer Suche alles gefunden haben. Zusammen mit mehr als 70 Designern aus ganz Europa stellte das BOXHORN-Team die bisher entstandenen Magazine aus.

From May 18 to 21, the Kunstfabrik am Flutgraben came once again abuzz with activity. And what was it that awaited the distinguished visitor this year? First and foremost, of course, a whole lot of design in every possible form, for all to experience and admire. In response to this year’s Designmai motto – “Designcity” – the Youngsters chose to explore the theme of “Designsuburbia”.
This title was no coincidence: the peripheral zones and the backyards of the Design City are the creative fields in which the Youngsters work. This year, the DMY presented their ideas and designs (discoveries) on more than 2500 square meters of exhibition space. More than 70 designers from all over Europe introduced their most recent work. Together with them the BOXHORN-Team presented the so far published magazines.
